After years of admiring the charm of Old Mill Point—a storied 40-acre enclave in West Harwich located between river and sea—a family seized the rare opportunity to join the neighborhood when a modest Cape-style home became available. The original house was compact and compartmentalized, but the location offered the perfect canvas to build a home for family life, entertaining, and long-term enjoyment.

Working with Patrick Ahearn Architect, Delicious Designs, and McPhee Associates, the family created a 6,000-square-foot home with five bedrooms, a finished basement, an attached garage, and a 150-square-foot pool cabana. Layered rooflines, varied dormers, white cedar shingles, and Admiralty Blue shutters reference historic New England homes, while open living areas, a chef’s kitchen, a sun-filled screen porch, and a lower-level lounge with golf simulator seamlessly blend timeless detail with modern comfort.
