On Thursday, October 9, 2025, our team joined Cape Cod’s top builders, designers, and trade professionals for the 7th biannual BRICC Awards, hosted by the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC).
Established in 2014, the BRICC Awards recognize excellence in building, remodeling, design, sales, and marketing across Cape Cod and the Islands. This year’s event, held at the Wychmere Beach Club in Harwich Port overlooking Nantucket Sound, featured nearly 200 submissions reviewed by an independent panel of industry experts. Ultimately, 74 projects received Gold or Silver recognition across 38 categories.
We’re thrilled to share the design stories behind our four award-winning projects. Read on to explore the details and inspiration that set these spaces apart.

Gold BRICC Award
Timeless Remodel on Saquatucket Bluff
Best Remodel: Bathroom/Laundry Over $100,000
Design-Build: McPhee Associates of Cape Cod

Timeless Remodel on Saquatucket Bluffs first earned a Gold BRICC award in 2021 for the initial phase of first-floor renovations, and this year, the home’s newly reimagined primary bathroom received another Gold BRICC award for Best Bathroom/Laundry Over $100,000.
As the latest chapter in a thoughtfully executed, multi-phase renovation, the primary bathroom embodies the quiet sophistication that now defines the home. Designed as a serene coastal retreat, it blends traditional craftsmanship with modern openness and a layered indoor-outdoor experience that elevates everyday luxury. A defining element of the design is its unexpected layout: a 7-foot-wide custom sliding glass door opens directly from the frameless double shower to a fully enclosed outdoor shower — private, tranquil, and just steps from the backyard.

True Haven
Best Specialty Room/Building: Under $500,000
Architect: Patrick Ahearn Architect
Builder: McPhee Associates of Cape Cod
Interior Design: Digs Design Co.

True Haven is a four-bedroom gambrel-style home that honors the neighborhood’s architectural vernacular while maximizing waterfront views. This harbor-front residence with a deepwater dock combines family-friendly design with lifestyle-focused spaces, including a custom garage transformed into a fishing station and social hub.
The highlight of the garage design is a set of arched carriage doors painted Benjamin Moore’s Essex Green with v-groove paneling and true divided-light windows. When open, these doors create unobstructed sightlines to the harbor and a seamless connection to the bluestone patio, outdoor kitchen, fire pit, and lounge. A yacht-inspired bar table anchors the space, making it ideal for entertaining neighbors or unwinding after a day on the water. Just steps from the dock, homeowners can clean their catch, unload gear, and settle in.
Gold BRICC Award
Bayside Cape Retreat
Best Specialty Room/Building: $250,000-$500,000
Build: McPhee Associates of Cape Cod
Interior Design: Lark & Soul

As part of a larger custom home build, the finished lower level of Bayside Cape Retreat extends the home’s vision of a modern coastal sanctuary designed for connection, comfort, and lasting memories. Far from a typical basement, this space was crafted with the same attention to detail, style, and functionality as the rest of the home. A welcoming media lounge and sleek kitchenette create a setting ideal for entertaining, while a custom bunkroom provides chic and comfortable guest accommodations. Layered lighting—from art sconces and under-cabinet LEDs to step lights and illuminated shelving—adds depth and ambiance throughout. At the heart of the design is a state-of-the-art golf simulator, blending entertainment and luxury in equal measure.
Silver BRICC Award
Custom Crafted Kitchen
Best Remodel: Kitchen, $200,000 and over
Build: McPhee Associates of Cape Cod

More than twenty years after building their home, the homeowners envisioned a transformation that would bring new life to their kitchen—creating a space that was brighter, more open, and thoughtfully designed for both daily living and entertaining. A r92-square-foot rear addition and complete layout reconfiguration allowed for a larger island, upgraded appliances, and bespoke elements such as a furniture-style coffee bar and oak-paneled range hood. Enhanced natural light, expanded storage, and improved flow now define the space, blending craftsmanship with comfort. The result is a refined, highly functional kitchen that beautifully reflects the homeowners’ lifestyle and the artistry of our team.
